Calming Effects of Lavender

Calming Effects of Lavender

Lavender is widely used as an aromatherapy agent and supplement to help with anxiety, depression, and fatigue.

Studies suggest that compounds in lavender may stimulate activity in certain areas of the brain and influence the transmission of impulses between brain cells in ways that boost mood and produce a calming effect.

The calming effect of lavender in the body is also thought to boost sleep.

Lavender tea can offer a calming beverage that helps ease anxiety and promotes sleep. Drinking lavender tea can be soothing and a great way to unwind.

Appreciating the aroma while drinking lavender tea may help reduce menstrual pain.

A study suggested that inhaling lavender essential oil can be a safe way to treat migraine headaches. If you have a headache, make yourself some lavender tea and take in the sweet aroma for relief.

Lavender is known to have antioxidant effects. Antioxidants are compounds that destroy free radicals — harmful molecules that cause oxidative damage to cells, which can lead to diseases and infections. Having lavender tea can boost antioxidants in your body and keep your cells healthy and protected.
